O jornal americano “New York Times” divulgou a lista dos livros notáveis deste ano. Dos 100 escolhidos, 52 são escritos por mulheres. Veja a lista completa aqui.
Inclusive, uma coletânea de contos de Clarice Lispector (1920-1977), publicada em julho deste ano nos Estados Unidos com o título “The complete stories”, entrou nessa lista. O jornal diz que “a brasileira foi uma das verdadeiras [vozes] autênticas da literatura latino-americana”. A editora Rocco planeja publicar a versão nacional do livro em abril de 2016.
Tantas mulheres entrarem nessa lista do “New York Times” é uma grande conquista. Ainda é muito difícil ver escritoras serem convidadas para eventos/debates de literatura, como a Festa Literária Internacional de Paraty, e até mesmo receberem prêmios por suas obras. Contudo, a mudança está acontecendo. Tivemos uma jornalista como vencedora do Nobel de Literatura 2015 e duas escritoras ganhando as principais categorias do Prêmio Jabuti. E a hashtag #leiamulheres, criada em 2014 pela britânica Joanna Walsh, continua nos incentivando.

No início desta semana, Amber Coffman, vocalista e guitarrista do grupo Dirty Projectors, publicou uma série de tuítes em que acusa o assessor/relações públicas Heathcliff Berru, fundador da empresa Life or Death PR & Management, de abuso sexual. As alegações de Coffman inspiraram muitas outras mulheres da área a comentarem sobre o comportamento do cara.
Coffman contou quando um “assessor de música muito popular passou a mão na minha bunda e mordeu meu cabelo em um bar há uns anos”. Ela disse que ainda sente raiva de si mesma por não ter dado um soco no nariz dele, mas que congelou totalmente na hora.
